Boeing Reaches Tentative Contract Agreement with Engineers Union
Boeing (BA) and its engineers union stated Friday night that the two sides have reached a tentative contract agreement on a labor pact, featuring general wage increases higher than those in an earlier proposal rejected three weeks ago.
If approved, approximately 17,000 members of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) professional and technical divisions will receive a 10% raise on October 16, followed by annual 4% raises from 2027 to 2030, plus performance-based increases.
The union said the latest proposal also includes adjustments to the professional division members' remote work policies and overtime limits.
The SPEEA negotiating team said in a statement: "This tentative agreement does not cover all the demands we presented, but it makes tangible progress toward improving pay and work-life balance, and rebuilding the relationship between Boeing management and union members."
The current contract expires on October 6, and if no agreement is reached by then, the union may initiate a strike.
